On Goodreads, I am a member of a group that does RaRs for Indie authors. This month’s pick is Strain of Resistance by Michelle Bryan. Here is the blurb:

My name is Bixby. I was 12 years old when the world ended. A mysterious mist had blanketed our world, turning most of the population into blood-sucking predators. The few of us left uninfected…well, we were the prey. Vanquished to the bottom of the food chain.

Sounds interesting, right? A little YA dystopia/sci-fi going on? Well, so far it’s got some small editing quirks…but that’s ok. We’ll see how it goes…gotta get it read and reviewed! Then we will know the answer to the eternal question of all book readers: is this book worth my time?

      2. Sometimes it is so sad when the cover is stunning and the book sucks…and vice versa. There’s an author, Jenny Lynne, who’s book is amazing (Above the Sky), but her covers (the first and second) are not great. It’s a shame too, bc I feel like if it had a pretty cover she’d get more from it). It’s sad, but so so true.

  2. Wow, this sounds like a great idea for a book group on Goodreads, it will hopefully give more recognition to indie authors as well.
    Also this sounds like a really interesting book, the cover is definitely gorgeous! I can’t wait to see your review and I hope you really enjoy the rest of this book. 😀
