    1. Yeah, it doesn’t hurt to have a portable copy, you know? Just so you can pick up where you left off if you’re out and about and get stuck waiting? I have to do mostly digital because my mom hates how many books I already own.

      1. Haha! Yeah, they’re definitely affordable. I need someone to save me money. 😂 I get crazy when I see books are on sale. I went insane over books I bought from Book Depository and Books-A-Million. Did you find any good online sales that one night when we were talking about that store?

      2. Yes! They are super cheap! There’s a BAM in Michigan…well, three. One is in Traverse City, so I’m gonna convince my mom to day trip over there and check it out! So cheap!
But if I go ebook, I usually stick with Amazon. I have other books from deals from other sites in other apps (Harlequin points for doing nothing earned me Firstlife and the who Pawn series!) and many will give you a free book for signing up. So I have Kobo, iBooks, Wattpad, Nook, etc etc for the free books.

      3. I can’t wait to see the pics from your BAM book haul. My box comes tomorrow. I’m planning to pair that with the books I took on the plane with me and my crazy shopping cart pics to create a post about my awesome deals. I take horrible pics though so they might not look so hot. Lol. Hence why I never use my own pics for headers. 🙂

    1. I don’t do pics either…well, I mean I love photos, but I don’t take pics of books unless I do a haul. I’m not like a bookstagrammer or anything….
So no judging. I have to take pics of my Darlings of Dystopia Ball winnings…they are just sitting in their packages, waiting! I have like no time!

      1. I have so many boxes of books I need to take pics of right now. I have the worst lighting in my house. It’s awful. I have an Instagram account but it’s not something I put any effort into since my pics are not anywhere near as good some people’s worst pics. 😂 How have you made out with Edelweiss? I still haven’t heard back on those 2. The rest were denied in one shot. Funny thing is one of the books I got denied for is coming in my OwlCrate this month. Go figure!

    2. Don’t worry: I suck at fancy photos too. Lighting stinks and I can’t justify the time. Lol.
I still have only been approved for Distortion. I’m glad to know that there’s a deadline because Jasmine told me…so I have to get it read by then.
Got turned down for the sequel to Front Lines by Michael Grant. Waiting on The a Midnight Star. Not having much luck.
Jasmine seems to be doing great! But she always does. Oh, get this: one of the books I requested on Edelweiss I actually received from NetGalley, but I don’t know how to cancel to request! Lol!!
I just got Spindle from NetGalley…it’s got an interesting premise, and I never thought I would get approved. So having better luck there than Edelweiss.

      1. Edelweiss is killing me. I got approved for P.S. I Like You, which is amazing and I thought I’d never get it because I’m such a massive Kasie West fangirl, but then I don’t hear back about two other books and I got denied for 4 in a row. Literally the emails came in like 30 seconds apart. I asked for The Thousandth Floor and that one disappeared without an answer. Jasmine said they archived it. I’m waiting on The Fixer and The Assassin Game. Not sure why it’s been a month without a word. I was denied Three Dark Crowns and here it’s supposed to be the book that’s coming in my OwlCrate. Go figure! I have so many approvals from Net Galley right now it’s crazy and I just got 3 boxes full of books delivered to my house from a publisher. Plus the BAM books came yesterday. I have a lot of reading to do this month. I looked at all the pub dates and was like oh no 6 of them are September. 😂 I’m reading 2 of the books I got from the publisher now, but I have to read the first book they sent before I can read the sequel that’s due out this month. Ugh, so much to read it’s crazy. I haven’t heard of Spindle. I might check it out though doubt I’ll have any time to read more I’m so swamped.

    3. Don’t worry…they’re giving me the shaft, too. I got Disruption, then requested a couple others. I have 10 denials and only one approval. I requested The Midnight Star…and I don’t know what Jasmine is doing right (I know your blog has the stats to make it through), but we must suck. Lol.
I feel your pain, because I’m rocking on NetGalley too! I’m going to review Disruption, and maybe once they see the review for that one, they’ll be more likely to approve me in the future? It was like this for me on NetGalley when I first started…I’m JUST beginning to get the books I want.
I’m trying to be patient. I really am, argh.

      1. Ha! Yeah, I definitely have the stats so that’s what annoys me when I get denied. I saw some people with like 20 followers saying they’re getting approved. So confusing. Oh, well I got legit paper ARCs now so I can live without getting approved for a few ebooks. 🙂 I had 8 books available to download on NetGalley and they just up and disappeared overnight. So weird. Now I have 5. Your reviews are really good and it looks like you’re getting the numbers up with followers. The approvals should come in no time. 🙂

    4. Oh honey, if you’re getting actual paper ARCs, then screw Edelweiss!! You’re rocking it on your own. I thought being friends on there would help, and it seemed to work for a min, but I don’t know what they are looking for if they aren’t approving you. I’m gonna focus on NetGalley because I’m getting some books I like…Edelweiss was always a dream…and it looks like they favor people who are booksellers anyway.

    5. I mean, I’ll keep trying because it doesn’t hurt (I was searching the listings and found one that was downloadable without needing a request, AND it’s a fairy-tale retelling, so I’ll give it a shot).
I’ll keep adding my reviews and maybe one day I’ll get approved. But if I were you I wouldn’t care because 1. You got the book you wanted and 2. Because you get ARCs everywhere else…like, don’t you get some through the mail?
You rock, and Edelweiss can’t recognize. NetGalley will be our homie!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yeah, I also saw some to download just like NetGalley. I have so many ARCs to read though. I think I’ll wait. I revived 8 books in the mail from the publisher last week. It was very exciting. I already read one and need to read two more by next Tuesday. 🙈 My TBR this month is crazy. Next month is just as insane. I keep getting approved for NetGalley so I’m sticking with them. 🙂

    6. I think I’m gonna stick with them too. I have enough books to read..and with the blog gaining popularity, I would like to get more books read and reviewed! People are constantly offering me free books, and I have so many I bought on sale that are just sitting there. I look on Edelweiss occasionally, and I’ll read my books by the deadline, but I do wish I was a bookseller or worked at Barnes & Noble because those people get approved for anything!

They are about $6, still an amazing deal! And I have bought copies.
But just in general, US have much better deals a lot of the time lol.

And some book boxes [monthly subscription one], some look amazing but don’t ship over here, or they cost an arm and a leg.
I love it here, we just don’t have as much as you guys have over there lol. Plus I live in a small town with 2 book shops lol.

    1. Wow…I can’t believe an EBOOK would be more expensive! It’s ELECTRONIC, for crying out loud. That pisses me off. You guys should be able to enjoy the deals, and for that I’m angry and sorry.
If it was a physical book, I might understand. A girl on Goodreads saw me enter a giveaway for Six of Crows, and she was sad they wouldn’t ship to Ireland. I felt her pain but I can understand the cost of international shipping (I sold on eBay for awhile so I know how pricey it can get). But a freakin ebook? It’s not like it costs more money to email it to your Kindle! (Or kindle app in a lot of cases).
I am going to take a stand on that whenever I can. I’m sending Amazon an angry letter. I happen to (somehow) have a lot of friends from AUS, a lot more than any country actually. And I want you guys to get the deals.
      So this isn’t over…it’s just begun…😉
In the meantime, I’m glad you have some of them already. Sorry about the rant, but I’m about fairness when it comes to stupid stuff like that

        Haha you’re the best! 🙂

I can definitely understand physical books not shipping over here and the costs of shipping being expensive on the book boxes and that. Thank god for Book Depository’s free shipping! Lol.
But I agree that it is ridiculous that the cost of Kindle/eBooks change depending on where you live. It’s not like we are on a different planet, they can still email us as easy as anyone in the US.

But I would be happy moving to the US for books lol, you also have Disneyland!! And so many more theme parks, I would be in heaven!! We only have 4 big theme parks over here.

    2. Ah, yes…Disneyland. They should really build one over there! They have one called EuroDisney, but I’m not sure where it is.
I know I take a lot for granted, and I should feel fortunate living in the US. But even though there are 50 states, it’s really all the same. I’d go over there in a heartbeat just to see what it’s like!
So now I’m not only angry at Amazon, I’m angry at Disney! “Disneyland Down Under” coming soon with my efforts! 😉

Haha please work on Disney land down under first. That would be amazing!!
Everyone takes things for granted in their own countries. There’s probably a lot that I take for granted about Australia. I would love to visit the US one day and the UK too!

  1. Ohh I love that you’re posting this for people to see. I already have all of these books, I’m actually going to be starting Snow Like Ashes tomorrow, but if I didn’t my bank account would be getting a work out I can tell you. I have no control when it comes to books, especially when they’re available at a bargain! 😀

    1. Me either, and I haven’t even used a gift card. It’s like, I can’t justify it if it’s under $3! I can afford that myself…though multiples do add up! I’m sure I’ve spent $50-$75 on bargain books alone, but now I have a lot of the copies I’ve always wanted to read or own…

    1. You’re welcome to the third power!
I would post these every day if I found them more often! I want you to save just like me. And it makes me happy that it makes you happy! I’m beaming! 😄

    1. Whatever I can do to spread the book savings! I can’t afford to buy them any other way (well, I have two Amazon gift cards…but still). If you can buy a copy of a book for under $3 and own it outright, then that’s awesome!
I actually forgot I bought The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, checked it out at Overdrive, and then couldn’t return it because it was my own copy…I was stuck for 21 days holding a book I couldn’t return to let others read. I am going to be more careful from now on.

    2. Just bought it…I own a used copy from the bookstore with the very old cover (it had cut out lettering with an image behind it)…but I can’t turn down a cheap ebook of anything that I like! Or have liked! Because I read that book so long ago, before reviewing, i may need to revisit it!
