Book Mail, Book Haul, and What I’m Thankful For…

Hi, guys! Just started another book (I had a lull there for a minute and did NOT like it one bit!)…

Currently Reading

This is what I’m currently reading, and I’m a little worried about the mixed reviews:

I’ve never read anything of Cast’s before, so this will be all new to me. I saw it on Netgalley awhile back but had so many books…and now I have it checkout out from Overdrive. So I might as well see what kind of book this is with the #coverlove cover!

Ok, so that’s just what’s on the currently reading shelf. Let me tell you about this last weekend! Some of you may know already, but I found the steal of a lifetime at an antique store in my area…I couldn’t believe my eyes!

Book Haul

Yes, you are seeing correctly! This is an old Advanced Reader Copy of ACOTAR! I couldn’t believe my eyes! (Sorry, I’m not a great Bookstagrammer: I just take a pic of the book and use it! Maybe when I have more time I could decorate with something…it’ll definitely take some practice!)

I bought it…for $2! Yes, I know what you’re gonna say: “I thought you couldn’t buy ARCs.” Well, technically, you’re right. So I don’t know who sold it or how they got it, but its mine now! Th pic doesn’t even do it justice.

I also found a lesser known title, but it was an ARC as well, so I nabbed it, too!

Oh, definitely had to buy that, too!

My last find may not be as exciting for y’all, but it was for me. I found the entire set of the Matched trilogy by Ally Connie for $10…two paperbacks and a hardcover.

I didn’t take pics of those books bc I wasn’t as excited as I was for the ARC finds! But you get the idea…

Book Mail

So Sammie @ onebookishgirl lives in Australia. She entered a contest giveaway on Twitter and WON! What did she win? Two book, both signed copies: Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake, and Replica by Lauren Oliver. Sad thing about it was that the giveaway was US only. Though Sammi called them out, saying the giveaway never specified that. So she messaged me on Twitter (she’s my homegirl) if it would be ok to have the books sent to me, and then I could send them to her. I said “Of course!” Then she told me to keep the copy of Replica because she already had one, and she just wanted the signed copy of Three Dark Crowns.

She really knows her way to a girl’s heart.

So I got the package yesterday and we opened it together, me snapping pics and sending them via Twitter. I’m mailing them Friday because I have too much Turkey day shit to do (grocery shop, help ::gasp:: bake, which is insane, etc).

But here’s what came in the mail:

Please ignore my home decor. I am not a good editor when it comes to this stuff: I just point and shoot.

Here’s the inscriptions/signatures:

I’m thrilled I get to keep Replica because I would have done this for Sammi without it. Any one of you blogger friend of mine, I would do it for you. (But now I feel closer to Sammi: she’s gonna send me the AUS version of Three Dark Crowns with that beautiful cover, and I’m going to throw in The Thousandth Floor US edition in with the Blake book. Which means I’m going to have to go to Barnes & Noble on Black Friday. Oh, how horrible! 😂🙌😂🙌😂🙌

This is what made me realize, with Thanksgiving coming up (I know some of my international friends may not celebrate), I wanted to say how much a appreciate all of you here.

What I’m Thankful For

I’m thankful for YOU, my friends. I’m thankful I found a community of people who love talking books as much as I do. I love that we gush, slam, fangirl, bash, joke, laugh, cry, cheer, and love each other. I’m grateful that I found a group of people that I know if I met them in the real world we would be the best of friends. I’m not even on Facebook anymore; this has become my home.

I’m thankful in the short, almost six months that I have been blogging (almost to my six month blogoversary), I have developed a following of people that always like and comment. That are there to be happy for me. Who make me feel like I’m a part of something bigger (yes, this is gonna get mushy and gushy and messy, probably).

I’m so happy and wish I had this support system back when I was in high school. A recent friend of mine that I care about on the blogs had been continuously picked on at school. She shared  that intimate info with me, and I told her about my experience in high school, called every name for “fat” under the sun. She was so touched that she was speechless. Or I guess I should say typeless since we don’t actually “talk.” But you know what I mean. I love that we have that ability.

Despite how people feel about the election, the country, and politics in general, we all get along. We all respect each other. Where else can you find the camaraderie that we get here in the book blogging community? I think it’s amazing. And I’m so grateful that I found WordPress, started a blog, and found all of you.

There are some people that I’m closer with on here, but I want to be close to all of you. I invite you to say whatever you feel and talk with me. I’m so happy for each one of you, and I read all your posts because I legitimately care about each one of you. So thank you for that. Thank you.

Oh, and I can’t forget…I am thankful for books, for without them, I wouldn’t have met all of you.

What are you thankful for? I’d love to here it!

Happy Reading, and I’d you’re celebrating the holiday tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving!  🦃  Gobble, gobble!

    1. That’s awesome! I’m just thrilled because my copy is an ARC copy! So someone at some point was given a galley of the book, and now I have it! It feels so special since I love it so much, and I never get physical ARCs. Even though the book is published, it’s pretty cool.
Thank you, Chelsea! Hope you love ACOTAR…of course you will!

    1. I’m eager to start it! Honestly, this is the one I’ve been waiting on ever since I heard of it, because I’ve been a fan of Oliver’s earlier books, like Delirium, but not a fan of her contemporaries. So I’m crossing my fingers.
You must read ACOTAR! I thought for the longest time that it was overly hyped, so I avoided it, but it truly is a good book. And to have an old ARC of it makes me feel so awesome because it is so rare. It’s like my own little ARC that I can pretend I earned somehow or was given, lmao! 😂😂😂

    1. Yes, I’ve read it and probably wouldn’t have bought it if it wasn’t an Advance Unproofed version of the book. I’m hoping it will be worth something someday. Well, it will always be worth something to me. Now I just need to meet Maas and have her sign it!
I will try to stay awesome! I know you will! 😊🙌

  1. Those ARC proofs are so cool, great find! I also really love the covers of the trilogy Matched. You’re lucky your friend won, wow, and an extra book for you too.. this is a great week! I’m suddenly feeling utterly stupid now because I won a book a while ago on a blog from this Cindy-person and then I also got her message that she couldn’t mail it to me, even when I proposed to pay shipping, and I didn’t even realize I could have had it sent to a blog friend. Now nobody has it. Anyway it’s good to know if it ever happens to me again 😊

    1. Yes, if it ever happens, you can call on me. 😉
You’re the first one to realize that it’s an ARC even though I said it. Others were just saying it’s a good book…but that wasn’t the point. It’s a freakin ARC! That was so cool to find, you know? Well, you do because you said so, lol! You get it! Thank you.
I’m sorry about that giveaway. People are jerks. I was surprised that Sammi trusted me but it was sweet and I appreciated it. I wanted to prove that trust wasn’t misplaced. Bad ppl could say oh, oops, I never got it and play it off and keep the books. I took pics every step of the way, even when I got a package and thought it was hers and realized it was for me, and I felt so bad to get her hopes up!
I think if we all just start entering giveaways, and then just have someone send it to someone in the same country, and then have that person send it to you, it could open up a whole window of awesome opportunities! 😍

  2. Awwww I love this post! I’m with you on being so thankful for this incredible book community. I feel like I would be lost without my blog and all of you. Also, that ARC of ACOTAR is gorgeous 😍. What a great find! I would have been freaking out haha. I think a lot of times antique and used bookstore places will buy/sell any format as long as it’s a physical book in good condition. I know I’ve run into a few ARCs in similar places. Happy early Thanksgiving! I hope you have a good one Stephanie! 💕

I was so thrilled to find it…if I could just meet Maas and have her sign it, I would be in heaven! I’m kinda interested in the other ARC, Misfit, because the description sounded pretty good on Goodreads! I hope to find more of them, of st least books I love!
Thanks for being a part of my blogger/Twitter community!

Yeah, no authors stop by Michigan. It sucks. When I lived in Phoenix, it seemed like no one came out there, and now that I’m in Michigan it seems like they all stop there but not here! Argh! I’d have to drive out of state and I’ve never done that before by myself. And I have no booksish friends in my area. 😑

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Awww that sucks. For me, a lot do come to my state but never a city near me. In Texas the main cities authors and such visit are so far apart. I’ve noticed that most if not all authors end up going to either Austin or Dallas and they’re 4+ hours from me. I don’t have any bookish friends in my area either so I’m with you on that. 😢

        Liked by 1 person

    3. Ahh, Texas. Yes, it’s like Phoenix: everyone thinks if someone is in AZ that it’s not too far, but some places take hours to get to, just like Texas. In Michigan, most authors go to the east side of the state. And yes, it def sucks having no bookish friends out here.
Who am I kidding? I don’t really have any friends out here, lol. I know ppl from school but all I really have is my family, and they are NOT big readers. Especially of what I like to read. I’m so envious of Gretchen and Lily for living in NY together and getting to go to Cons and do stuff! I would love to go to Cons with someone!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Exactly! Though I do get that in reality they can’t stop in every city in every state. I just wish they would mix it up with each tour, throw in some different cities in each state.
It’s pretty much the same for me! I’m not the only reader but the people in my family who are don’t really care for signings or cons. I am too! Seeing their bookcon posts made me wish I lived closer to events like that and had bookish friends close that I could go with. One day, hopefully!

OMG OMG OMG STEPH!!!!!!!!!! THE BOOK IS EVEN MORE GORGEOUS THAN I THOUGHT! I STILL CAN’T BEIEVE IT!
I am so thank fun for books too, Three Dark Crowns sounds amazing, and it’s on my very long TBR!

    1. Me too! I’m so thankful for books!
I think you’re the only one who shares the same level of excitement as me!!! Thank you for being excited for me. I love you, girl!
I won’t get to read this copy of Three Dark Crowns bc I’m mailing it out on Fri, for Sammi, but I do get to receive an Australian version with the big crown on the cover with the roses on it. I think the covers of books in other countries can be prettier than the ones here in the US. I still think the cover of the US one is good, but it’s just not as good as their version. I hope to develop a book swap thing where people who really want a diff country’s cover could swap with someone who wants the version from the other’s country! Wouldn’t that be fun?

That would be so much fun! In England we get some of the same covers as in America, which I tend to prefer!! I don’t think that I’ve seen the one with the large crown yet, I may have to google it . . . sounds beautiful though!

Yes, it’s 4:33pm right now on the 23rd. Can you tell me the winning lotto numbers? 😂😂😂 (Can you imagine if I asked you that for real, thinking you could tell me?)
Whew, made me laugh. Thank you for the holiday wishes…I guess Aussies don’t probably celebrate Thanksgiving and I realized I’m not being Global enough when thinking of my holidays! I’m sure there are some AUS holidays that I have no idea about!
Thank you for being a friend, and I’ll let you know what I think of Re
Lica. I almost don’t want to read it bc I’m afraid I’ll ruin it somhow! 😳

      1. Haha real life me, is telling future you HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Yes of course winning lotto numbers 6,25,34,55 and 58… do your numbers even go that high hahahah!

We don’t celebrate it no, but we do celebrate some other things. Like we have a few public holidays, Australia Day is on the 26th of January, and The Queens Birthday Holiday which is the 2nd of October. We don’t celebrate Halloween either! Which is exciting for me because next year I will be visiting America for Halloween!!!!!! So I will get to see all the craziness!

        Liked by 1 person

    2. Oh, you’re gonna love Halloween! I’m so fun for a first-timer! Especially if you are related to some kiddies who will be trick-or-treating, or if you look young enough to do it yourself! I did it until I was 14 or 15! 😂
Thanks for those winning numbers! Lol! Yes, I think they go up to 50 something…you don’t have the lottery out there?
Sounds like you guys have some good holidays that we don’t celebrate! We don’t have a US day, so I’m kinda jealous about your Australia Day!! 😊

      1. I definitely do not look young enough to do it myself hahaha! I think there’s probably a limit. People would be like… your 25 go buy your own candy HAHAHA!
We do but I don’t remember what the numbers go up to!
Our holidays are pretty good, Australia Day is by far the best one, but it just involve a lot of drinking and laying on the beach because it’s the middle of our summer and it’s SUPER HOT that time of year!

  4. I haven’t read Moon Chosen myself but I did pick up PC Cast’s previous series, I think it was called House of Night, and was not a fan so I don’t think I’ll be picking up that one.
Ohh that’s great about the ARC of ACOTAR, something special for your book collection right? Plus I love the images of the books Sammie won in the competitions, it’s brilliant they’ve been signed and personalised as well and the AUS cover of Three Dark Crowns (the same cover they have over here in England) is gorgeous, I actually prefer it to the UK edition.
I loved reading about what you were thankful for as well Stephanie, obviously books are a major part of mine, and with it book blogging, but I love every single person I have interacted with on here as well. You’re right the support system is amazing and I have yet to meet someone who isn’t just an amazingly kind person. ❤ I always love getting comments from you and you always make me smile with the replies you leave to my posts and comments as well! 🙂
Good luck braving the stores during Black Friday as well! 😀

    1. I always look forward to your comments bc they make me smile!
Yes, that US/UK cover with the three crowns on it is ok, but I love the three different versions that are green, yellow, and red. The rose one is my fave. That’s what Sammi will be sending me: one of those versions. And I didn’t realize it before, but the color scheme to the AUS version of Replica is diff than ours: the US version is blue and yellow, and theirs is peachy pink and purple. I like the US version of that one better. But when it comes to UK covers, I love A Gathering of Shadows vs the US cover of the book. I think the US version is so ugly.
And don’t get me started on Heartless…I love that painted cover as much as the US brambles cover. Both stunning. But I digress…I could talk book covers all day!
I AM thankful for our convos! I love discussing everything with you. I feel like a pen pal but with faster turnaround time! And I know you guys don’t do Thanksgiving (why would you?), so I know I won’t see tons of these kinds of posts, so I thought it would be nice to thank all the bloggers for reading my blog. And yours, too. We both have some pretty cool ppl on here! And many in common. 😉
So far, Moon Chosen is weird. Like very weird. But I’m giving it a chance…it IS 600 pages long, so it might take some time. I never read House of Night (didn’t think it would be my style), but the cover and blurb on this one was too interesting to pass up. I got a lot of good books coming due, for good this time. Though I have papers to write, I’m reading as fast as my little brain will let me!
Love you! 😘 Have a happy Thursday in lieu of Thanksgiving, and I’m excited for Black Friday…I used to stand in line and it was so much fun (except for the snow), but now I just want to peek into the stores and see what’s going on during the day.

      1. I want to get one of the Three Dark Crowns UK editions but I haven’t decided yet which is my favourite! Will Sammie be sending you the red one or will it be a surprise for you? I didn’t know that about Replica, obviously I have the UK edition of that book, and see I actually prefer the US editions of the Shades of Magics series. Heartless is gorgeous though in both editions.
Nah, but I guess I count my weeks TTT theme as my Thanksgiving thankful post. And yours was lovely to read! 😀
Yeah I don’t think I’ll be picking it up. Unless I see some stunning reviews for it, which I haven’t so far, it just doesn’t interest me much. I wouldn’t recommend the House of Night books, the story starts off OK but as the books go on it just kind of devolved a little for me. Sounds like you’ve got a lot of work going on at the moment, hopefully you’ll still have some time to relax over Thanksgiving.
Thanks Stephanie. I’ll wish you a happy Thanksgiving in that case, and I hope you have fun braving the stores on Black Friday as well.

    2. I hope she sends me the red one! That’s my favorite. 😉
Today I wish you a happy Thanksgiving even though you don’t celebrate because to me I feel you’re a part of my culture here! 😊 Here is an honorary Turkey for you: 🦃. You can keep him as a pet.
And I love Black Friday…I haven’t been able to go out and brave the lines like I used to because I don’t have the money like I used to. But I do love the electricity in the air during one of the busiest and craziest shopping days of the year over here. People go nuts! I just like being around it because it gets me hyped for Christmas! I love this time of year!
So then, when does your holiday season officially start, since you don’t do Halloween or Thanksgiving? Is there, like, a day where everyone acknowledges that the season has started? (I totally love learning about how it is over there!)

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Ahh thanks Stephanie, honestly it’s so nice you’re thinking of us non-Americans in your holiday! ❤️
Well, we already have Black Friday over here, though not to the same extend, so it may only be a matter of time before we get Thanksgiving as well.
I hear horror stories about people going completely nuts but I guess that may be the minority rather than the majority. Either way it does sound really exciting! 🙂
We don’t have Halloween, at least not like you guys do over in America, or Thanksgiving but we have Fireworks or Bonfire Night/November 5th which we celebrate and then Remembrance Day a few days later. For some of us Christmas has pretty much started. I’ve been seeing decorations but December 1st is when we’ll really start getting in the Christmas mood! 😀

        Liked by 1 person

    3. Of COURSE I think of my non-American friends…apparently I have a lot of them, lol! I find it interesting that you guys have Black Friday but not the actual holiday. I like the idea of Remembrance Day and Bonfire Night sounds prettt fun…I figured the holiday season for you guys started on Dec 1st without the day after Thanksgiving to use as a marker. It would be kind of cool to know you guys get to chow down like us! It is only fun for the food and the Macy’s parade, which I skipped bc I was reading. I’m actually liking Moon Chosen so far: it’s pretty intricate with the world-building!
I’m so excited for Christmas! I wish someone here in my family would get my a subscription box, but they don’t know how to do any of that…or books, but they don’t know what I like unless I spell it out and then they feel like there is no surprise element to the gift. Argh! 🤓

      1. I have a lot of friends from other countries as well. Yeah Black Friday was introduced a good few years ago and it’s just seemed to expand from there. It’s not just one day over here but up to five going from Thursday all the way through to Monday. I think eventually we’ll bring Thanksgiving over as well, it’s what we’ve done with a lot of American holidays.
I love Bonfire Night, I have a lot of fond memories standing with my friends in the freezing cold watching all the fireworks go off.
Do you guys start for Christmas as soon as Thanksgiving is over then? Normally anytime before December is too soon over here.
I’m glad you’re enjoying Moon Chosen so far, you read to enjoy books so you don’t want it to be a disappointment do you.
I have that problem. Normally if people ask for a list I give them a selection of books, so although I possibly know what they’re going to get there’s still a bit of an element of surprise because I don’t know what they’re going to choose from my list. It’s how me and one of my friends have done it for years now!

    4. That’s a great way to recommend books!
We have the same thing with our Black Friday: it goes from Mon to Mon practically now! Stores are even open on Thanksgiving!
I’m so full right now! Stuffed.
      Bone fire night sounds awesome.
The Christmas season STARTS after Thanksgiving…that’s why the parade ends with Santa Claus, bringing the “Christmas season” with him!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Jesus that sounds extreme, for some reason I always thought it would be different over in the US and you’d only have Black Friday on the Friday, but I guess it’s any excuse for shops to make sales.
It definitely is fun, just an excuse to put on a load of firework shows and drink hot chocolate watching then in the cold.
Well in that case I suppose you only really start Christmas a couple of days before us over here! 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

    5. Yeah, not too different. At least we have similar seasons, unlike the Aussies we know! They’re getting warm while we’re getting cold!
I saw on the news that there have already been two shootings, one at a Walmart over a parking spot. Ppl get crazy during Black Friday. I use to like waiting in line in Phoenix bc it was exciting, but bc it snows in Michigan I started staying home. Plus the only real deals to stand in line for are for the electronics. If you don’t need a big screen tv or a laptop, then many of the sales last until Tues, because of Cyber Monday. I personally want to go to B & N to see if books are on sale, but I found a bunch on Amazon and I went to bookoutlet.com and got Front Lines and Atlantia for $10 (both hardcover). That was a good deal and I loved both books. There are some good deals on there today!
      Happy Black Friday, lol! 😬😬😬

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yeah I find that really weird, but given how freezing it is over here now I find myself wishing for some of their warmer weather. It would make waking up in the mornings easier if it wasn’t so cold!
Oh my god they’ve had shootings?! I seriously can’t believe people get this crazy over deals but I guess they are supposed to be good deals. Still I can’t imagine anything that would make me shoot someone for a better price! Yeah I never really go insane over electronics, I go insane over books but normally you find much better prices online like you said. Still it sound like you got some good deals yourself! 🙂
Happy Black Friday to you too, hopefully the insane shopping rushes out there will quieten down soon! 🙂

    7. Nah I stayed in: I gotta still get Sammi her book from B&N but didn’t want to deal with the crowds. My mom made me go pick out a new tree bc our old one isn’t working right…we got a nice one from Home Depot. Now it’s all set up and I should take a pic so you guys can see. My mom even put up the lights and made it look super pretty because she is in the Christmas spirit!

I hope I like it…so far it’s a little weird. Not Vassa weird, but there’s three tribes, and you’re kinda thrown into their worlds, piecing it together as you go…I hope it picks up, but I guess this one is considered a Tome bc it’s over 600 pages!
I’m so thankful for you, Megan. You are a great friend. 😊

You haven’t read Delirium by Oliver? Oh, I ❤️ that one. Some ppl don’t but I do. Then she did contemporaries and I wasn’t too into those, and now she’s back into the interesting stuff! Super jazzed.
Happy umm…nothing?…to you! I forget that my holidays aren’t always holidays other ppl celebrate! Wait, that means you prob have to work tomorrow?? Lame!
I haven’t met a lot of ppl through Bookstagram yet, but the blogosphere has really helped me connect to so many ppl: though there are those that follow you just to get you to follow back and raise their numbers…I don’t follow ppl like that anymore!

Happy thanksgiving ❤ (even though we don't celebrate it here haha)

You bought an ARC! That's so weird!

It was sad reading about that high school experience… teens can be the worst! It's funny because it's usually those who're picked on that are successful afterwards ^^

    1. Isn’t that the truth?? What a good observation! I know it gives character to have been picked on…so it makes sense!
It’s funny bc most of my friends on here AREN’T from the US I’m realizing…but I’m still glad to take the chance to tell you how thankful I am to know you. 😊
Yeah, buying an ARC was weird but also awesome!! 😉
Have a happy Thursday then!! 😂😉

I hope you had a great time yesterday.

And yes, I’m saying it because I’ve seen it, even now that I’m only 25. People who were bullies that now don’t know what to do with their lives…

  8. I know so many people who would be dying for that ARC of ACOTAR 😂😂 I was not a fan so I’m gonna be suuuuuper interested to see what you think because your reviews are always so well put together!! Also all the books are sooo pretty. I really enjoyed Replica 😀

Loved reading about what your thankful for. I definitely relate to having to put up with bullying and it’s so great now having such a wonderful support system now.

    1. I loved the book! I already had checked it out from the library and reviewed it on here: you might have missed it! But thanks for saying that! I try so hard to be thorough when reviewing but I always look forward to yours. 😊
Yes, bullying needs to be eradicated. It’s one of the worst things to happen in schools. When I’m teaching I’m going to be watching for it. And I won’t turn a blind eye to it.
I know you’re in Australia, so just happy Thursday! 😘
And the ARC…I just think it’s such a cool find! And the fact that I liked the book makes it that much better, lol! Love ya, Lauren!

  9. Beautiful post! I’m so glad to see how you’re happy in this community. 🙂
And oh, dw about pics, as long as we get to see books on them, I don’t mind! Mine are no better then yours, I just put my cat sometimes into the pic to make it cuter.

As for your haul, I think it’s a great one!

    1. Thank you! And I agree: as long as we can share books, that’s all that matters!
And I think of you as someone with who I have grown closer, thanks to Twitter! I love that we share some of our “book concerns” in common. 😉
Have a great Thanksgiving, and if you aren’t in the US, then happy Thursday, lol!

      1. Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
I am not in USA, I’m actually in Europe, little country called Croatia. We have a regular day today, but I’m spending it in theatre, we’re going to watch Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, so I’m happy bc Ezra Miller on a big screen, what can possibly be better??! 😛

  10. That was such a great haul, and it’s so sweet what you did for Sammie! We’re all super thankful to have you here, too, and like you, I’m also really glad that we’ve got this tiny space of the internet to… ah, not meet, exactly, but really interact and get to know each other one way or another. It’s such a special thing, I feel.

Also I’m glad to see that you’ve picked up Moon Chosen! Hope you’re enjoying it a bit more than I was. 😂

    1. Apparently I’m hearing a lot of ppl didn’t like it, so now I’m a little worried…
But yes, I am thankful for all of you guys, and what I did for Sammi I would do for ANY of you. I love you guys and you all are wonderful people with big hearts.
I’m glad I met you and get to read your reviews and see your amazingly well-put-together book looks!
      Thank you! 😘

  11. I am bombarding your posts today with my comments. You made a lot of posts these days hehe.. I was out of town for almost a week and didn’t have much time for blog hopping. Great haul! That’s a cool find of ACOTAR! The book is so new and hot, I’m surprised people would give it away already, but I’m glad they did because now it’s in your hands! hehe.. That’s cool that Sam share with you her winnings. I have entered a bunch but haven’t won yet. I think it’s easier to just write to the publisher and ask for ARCs than entered in giveaways.. I have done that and I got Corruption 🙂 Can’t wait to read it. Have you read your Corruption yet? Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and got to eat some turkey. I did 🙂

    1. You got Jessica Shirvington’s book from the publisher? Awesome! I bought it on Amazon.au by putting in an Australian address. It works! All you do is go to an address generator and pick a country (AUS or UK works), and then you can buy books from there without having to wait until they’re released here! I wanted Corruption so bad I didn’t want to wait, and I still haven’t even read it (go figure). I have Swarm, The Swan Riders, The Sleeping Prince, The Dark Days Clubs, and a couple others due to the library by the first! And I’ve already renewed them twice! So I’m reading The Swan Riders right now. I have to wait on the ARC requesting until I read the current books I guess! Lol.
Glad you’re back! And how cool is that? Jessica Shirvington ARC! I’m afraid to write to publishers as I have little time right now with school and so many books. Plus your blog has a LOT more activity than mine. I can’t post as much. But when school is out, hopefully I will be able to do that with you and we can team up!

      1. Your blog has more book reviews than mine and that’s more important I think. When you write a letter to them, make sure you include your blog stats too and links to your social medias. We are still on for Wintersong on Dec 9th right? I will post my book mail on Instagram today so you can see. It’s awesome getting the Corruption ARC 🙂 I have since give myself less pressure on library books because it will always be there. I am focusing on reading more ARCs now because I have a lot and I can’t stop collecting! haha.. (also, it helps not to buy if no money to spare, so it’s actually a good thing!). Yes, we can team up. I think we have a few of the same ARCs: The Bone Witch, Ever the Hunted, The Body Market, and Wintersong. We can buddy read them all if you are up for it. I like reviews with two blogger’s opinions. It’s fun 🙂

    2. Did you get an eARC or a physical one?
I’m down still for Wintersong, though I think we should change it to Ever the Hunter bc that comes out Dec 27! And that’s sooner than Wintersong. That’s what I’m thinking…what do you think?

(I don’t even think I should be commenting with the amount you already have here. I’m sure they’re loading up majorly through all of your recent posts.)
I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving but Stephanie, you are one of the nicest people of met (virtually) and you’re so kind. If someone deserves the praise it’s you girl. I’m so thankful for my friendship with you and I’d just like to let you know: you’ve made this blogging experience for me so much better with your wonderful, thoughtful comments. So, thank you.
Also, question: have you seen the Three Dark Crowns UK editions? I was shopping yesterday and in a bookstore when I saw it. But, there were three different types. Each one was representing a different sister. There was a green one with snakes, a red with roses and an orange with flames. There were absolutely beautiful. Of course, I didn’t buy one because I was shopping for other people but they were fab!

    1. YES! I want the roses one!! That’s the one I hope Sammi sends me!
And thank you so much for those kind words! You made me smile and it was already a tough day, so thank you so much. You guys (including you) mean the world to me, and I would do anything to help you out! Distance means nothing to me.
I don’t care how many comments are on a thread: hopefully the app or email notifies me of all of them, because I answer every one. You take the time to say such wonderful things to me that if I know about it, I’m going to thank you!
Sometimes my app or my email doesn’t catch them all, so if I miss one, I’m sorry and it means I didn’t see it.
I am so thankful that I know you. 😊

Ooh, nice. That one is probably the prettiest! I do like the whole aesthetic of the other two though. Especially all three together.
Aw, well, I guess I’m glad I made you happy for at least a moment or two. Sorry you had a hard day. Maybe a good book’d solve it, ey? Haha. I hope your day brightens. Mines practically over but you’ve still got a few hours, right?
See, you’re so kind! Your family are lucky to have you. Of course! It’s nice that you don’t just like the comment. It’s that you take the time to respond to the many messages. Yes, I hate when that happens. I feel really bad. Especially if the person commented days before you see the comment.
        Thank you! You too! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    2. Thank you, Cate. It just really means a lot to me that you say these things. (And yes, having all three copies of that book with those covers would be sweet)
It really wasn’t a “rough” day, but it was mediocre. And I wasn’t getting time to read, which is like not breathing! Now I’m on the patio, listening to the rain, reading The Swan Riders with the light of the Christmas tree echoed in the window. This is the time I feel the best. 😊

Ah, gotcha. Aww, that’s sad. Though I’m kind of in the same boat. I’ve only had a bit of time at the weekend. But the amount of buddy reads I had planned this month but of course, I’ve only managed to keep up with two.
Nice, I’d gone to bed by then. You have your tree up? Nice. I’m putting mine up this weekend hopefully. There’s this show for Christmas every year- The Late Late Toy Show and we usually coordinate with that. Of course the show is for kids but it’s been on for years. Tea. You need tea too. Do you drink tea? I couldn’t survive without it.

Tea is an essential here. You’re not irish if you don’t drink tea! I don’t like coffee Mich either. Eww, no. Monster? Why? I hate stuff like that 😦

        Liked by 1 person

    3. I think it’s because coffee upsets my stomach. And I like the taste. Lol.
Tea always tastes so bitter to me! I tried iced tea and that was better. Once, someone convinced me to drink a Long Island Iced Tea and told me it was a “light alcoholic beverage.” They lied. I couldn’t even walk. I was so mad.
The Monsters aren’t really good for me, but I have a SLOW metabolism. Like super slow. I take meds and someone else takes them: they will feel better or feel the effects in the regular time, and I don’t feel them for hours. It sucks. It’s why I have struggled with my weight. So the Monsters help with energy (not a lot but better than nothing…I would drink coffee or cappuccino if it didn’t make me sick)
I know…I have to quit drinking them soon. 😕
