Book Mail & Top Ten Bookish Gifts! Double Post Love!

Now that I’m out of school and have stopped Christmas shopping for the day, I wanted to do a little update, especially since I haven’t finished the current book I’m reading, Wanderer. It’s a book I got on Edelweiss as a Read Now title when I first signed up, and I thought maybe I should review it and my Edelweiss real estate might finally go up. I never get approvals on Edelweiss so I’m trying to fix that.

The book isn’t too bad, but it’s a slow-moving read right now…

So what better way to break up the monotony then to post a list (like I’ve noticed others doing…so I wanted to take part) of the top ten bookish gifts that I wouldn’t mind seeing under the tree! I know it was a Top Ten Tuesday post, but I’m making it Top Ten Thursday so it works, y’all!

And I’ll share my awesome book mail when I finish the list! (I’m so glad to have time to post other stuff besides reviews now: tags, I’m coming for ya, lol).

Here’s the Top Ten Bookish Gifts For Me Everyone for Christmas! (or for people a lot like me! 😉)

In no particular order…

10. A new Ereader

Ok, so I have a Kindle. I got it two years ago when my mom got tired of me constantly borrowing her Kindle Fire. It’s not a fancy Paperwhite or a Fire: it’s the e-ink version that came out after the reg Kindle but before the Paperwhite. It’s great and all, but it has no backlight and the case I got for it was expensive enough without getting the book light version (apparently only Amazon really makes and sells cases still for this smaller Kindle). It’s great in a pinch, but I use my Kindle apps on my iPad and iPhone way more bc it just is easier.

So I asked for this for Christmas:

Yes, I have an iPad mini and an iPhone, plus a Kindle. So why the Fire HD, you ask? Because I do Bookstagram and I want to take pretty pics of books…but I don’t own a lot of physical copies. And black and white (greyscale) images of book covers aren’t that pretty. It’s backlit so you can see all the words and I can keep my plain Kindle for traveling. I don’t need it, but it would be nice…

9. Fujifilm Instax Camera

I already know what you’re thinking: “But Stephanie, (or TeacherofYA, whatever you want to call me), this isn’t a Bookish gift!”

“Why not? Why don’t you wait and I’ll tell you why! Sorry, didn’t mean to yell! Please don’t cry!”

Sorry, that imaginary convo was brought to you by Crazy(TM), the insanity that lives in my head.

So back to the point…I want one of these because I think it would be super cool to take pics of your books and make a book journal! I know some of you have book journals, but wouldn’t it be cool if you had a tiny pic of the book for your entry? Then if you don’t own the book, you still own a piece of it. And the covers are usually so pretty. I’d LOVE to do this. And getting to use it for other stuff would be icing on the cake. (I’d love the Hello Kitty edition, but I won’t be picky).

8. Fairy Loot Subscription Box

So if seeing this pic doesn’t make you drool, I don’t know what will! 🤤🤤🤤

I have NEVER had a sub box. Never. I look at people unboxing their Owlcrates or their Dragon’s Hoard (yup, shout out to my Aussie followers) boxes and going through the goodies. It kills me. Right through the heart.

Now some of these boxes people subscribe to I don’t think are worth the $$$. Some are anywhere from $30-$60 dollars/box/month, (I believe The NOVL one is the most expensive I’ve seen) and you don’t know what you’ll get. You’ll get a good book, maybe a candle, a lip balm, and some posters. Maybe a bookmark. Is that worth the moolah? Well, if it is for you, then awesome! 😉👍

For me, the Fairy Loot box seems worth it…maybe Owlcrate too. At least with Fairy Loot, you usually get a lot. For example, in their “Royals &a Rogues”box, they included:

  • Nemesis by Anna Banks
  • Signed bookplate, bookmark, author letter, Parani sketch
  • ACOMAF quote tote bag
  • Queen of Books ceramic mug
  • Calipha pocket mirror
  • Queen of Terrasen notepad
  • Royals & Rogues Earl Grey Tea and filters
  • Spectorium crystal soap
  • Red Queen Mare illustration
  • Red Queen lettering
  • Wolf by Wolf quote

I don’t know about you, but that’s a lotta bang for your buck. You have to remember: the hardcover retails at $18.99 USD regularly. So there’s $20 right there. Sometimes they include an extra book. I don’t personally drink tea or need a ton of illustrations, but they would cost money if you were to buy those things, and for £26.00 ($31.95 USD), it’s worth it. I’d do it once to see, but I don’t have the money. But hopefully one day I will. 😊🤞

7. Book Jewelry

Have you seen these yet? Book charms that can be worn on necklaces, bracelets, or even dangling from bookmarks! I received some in a contest back over the summer called Darlings of Dystopia Ball…there were Facebook giveaways all night and I won seven contests! I was going to post about it, but I got busy with school, time went on, and then I felt silly bc so much time had passed.

I won, besides books, magnets, postcards, and other swag, a bracelet with a book charm and a necklace with a book charm. These were indie authors, so you probably won’t recognize the book titles, but they jewelry is ADORBS! I really want a Lunar Chronicles set, Splintered set, or Kiss of Deception set. The covers are vibrant and the artists make them all different but still cute. Tiny books…that you can wear! How awesome is that, really? 😍😍😍😍😍😍 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤

6. Bookmarks

Mine is purple and has a different design on the fob, but this is similar to the bookmark I own. When I thought I lost it, I replaced it with an butterfly one that was the same type bc they were out of the letter “S.”

I know…the pic is tiny but I didn’t think I’d find my exact one. Later I found my S one, so now I have two nice bookmarks. But do we ever own too many bookmarks??? NOOOOO.

Bookmarks are great: some of us start multiple books at once…and there are so many beautiful ones that are out there. Check this one out I saw on Amazon the other day and added it to my list immediately:

Right? Isn’t this awesome? I dig it. Bookmarks come in all different types and materials…no more scraps of paper! They give them out for free everywhere! Or they make great stocking stuffers! Who wouldn’t want feet sticking out of their book? C’mon?

5. Funko Pop Vinyls

I recently discovered these through other bloggers (in their bookshelf photos) and subscription boxes. They are SO CUTE!

I don’t own a single one. But I want to. I added one in a gift to someone special and I want some, but my mom thinks they’re silly. So probably won’t get any until I move out. (She thinks I’m too old for them and they’ll just clutter up my room and be worthless bc they aren’t anything rare as they are mass produced). It’s annoying not to be able to own them, but if this is my everyone’s fantasy Christmas list, then I should add them!

4. Book journals

I got an email about this new YA book journal, and I just want it so bad! Though I’d like to make my own like some awesome bloggers out there, I don’t have the time or the resources to do that. So a premised one that I can personalize the inside of is perfect! I’d love to keep a list of all the amazing quotes, books, and dates read. I’d like to have it for recs for others. I’d like to have a Chronicle of my personal book journey.

I can also mark what to use for class and any teaching ideas I get. And if I get the camera, then the covers are going in, too. (I do have a Polaroid zip photo printer too in case I don’t get one and all I have to do to use it is connect to anything like my iPhone via Bluetooth and print them out…I bought some extra laser the other day, and it is a rad gift, btw).

3. Art prints

Cinder Litograph

I have a lot of pics that need hanging. I have antique sheet music, cool movie posters, and random pictures that need to be framed and hung already. But there’s something about seeing a fave book cover as art that you just can’t resist!

Society6, Redbubble, and Etsy are all sites where you can find cool art prints and other awesome Bookish gifties. I love the Splintered art print personally. Sigh. Beautiful.

2. Gift Cards

So we all don’t have a lot of money…well, maybe some of you do…I don’t. I take advantage of $1.99 deals on Amazon, but a lot of times that adds up. I still have a $50 Amazon gift card, but I spend the $25 one I had bc I needed some books. I hate to run out of gift card moolah, so that’s the best gift ever.

Amazon or Barnes & Noble are great gift cards to receive! I love Amazon bc of the instant gratification of ebooks, and Barnes & Noble has the physical beauties…

Which leads me to my last bookish gift idea…

1. Books books books books books books books books books 📚 📚 📚 📚 📚 📚 !

You had to know that was coming, right?

With Heartless fulfilled twice (I won an ARC via Twitter giveaway and I bought a SIGNED copy at B&N while Christmas shopping bc it was the only one in the store and I think was a leftover from something. So I HAD to buy it…wouldn’t you?), there are two books in particular that I want to own (what? Only two? Well, these are two are really really want).

I want to own this because Suzanne Young redid the name and cover of this book. And I love this cover. The new one is called Hotel For The Lost and the cover is ugly to me. I can’t even put it on here. It’s just…blech. I don’t know why she changed it, but I want to own this one. So much #coverlove.

And…

I loved Schusterman’s dystology…and I’ve been waiting to read this book. I can’t wait! I hope I get this baby under the tree.

Ok, so those are my choices, my list. But I did mention some BOOK MAIL, didn’t I?

Sammi @ Onebookishgirl won two signed books: a copy of Three Dark Crowns and Replica. They wouldn’t ship overseas so she asked me to accept it for her. Of course I said yes. I would do that for anyone. To be nice, she let me keep Replica, because she already owned it.
So we decided to do a book swap! It was fun! I sent her a box with Three Dark Crowns, The Thousandth Floor (she liked the cover), and some other stuff (I’m not saying until she gets it). I also sent a package to Anne @ Inkedbrownies for SFATW. But that’s for another post.

Well, I got Sammi’s package, and it was SWEET! She sent me copies of the same two books with the Aussie covers! The ones I adore! She’s one of my closest blogging buddies and we talk all the time now. I loved that she threw in some Vegemite. I’ve never had it as I am from the US…but I am going to try it, and I’ll share the experience via a video for y’all. I will eat a Vegemite sandwich and tape my reaction for all of you guys.

After the holidays. 😂🤣😂

So here (in case you haven’t seen my Instagram) is my book mail from Sammi!

So that’s it, guys! Thanks for listening to my long-ass post! I’ll keep reading…and hoping for some awesome bookish gifts.

Happy Reading, y’all! I’ll talk to you again before the holiday, don’t worry! 😉

  1. Ahhh! Don’t you just LOVE book mail?!😍

I totally agree with wanting all these presents. I especially love that bookmark with the red slippers coming out of it, it’s just so cute! And I haven’t gotten any subscription boxes either, not to worry (but they look SO COOL)!

    1. They are cool and if I had the money I would sign up in an instant!! Most definitely!
I LOVE bookmarks. I also have an adorable Tokidoki one that isn’t great but it’s super cute (it’s metal and enamel so it slips out so once I get shelves it’s going on display!!)
I ❤️ book mail! Waiting on a package from Anne and then a SIGNED copy of Truthwitch that I won! Twitter rules! 😊😊😊

    1. No, it does….but it’s weird on my iPad. My case is really bulky and it’s not something I want to pose. My case has a cover that looks like a book, so you can’t bend it behind or out of the way (the cover is cardboard so if you bend it, it rips…). I use it for everything and I don’t want to use it in Instagram. Is that weird? It’s probably weird,
      I’m so weird…😳🤡

    2. Oh, gotcha. Yeah, my Kindle is in B&W, but with no backlight. I thought about using my iPad, but it is a pain in the ass…but then again, this is a wishlist and I most likely will be using it as I do technically have the ability and don’t “need” a Kindle Fire. Though for the non-HD ones, you can’t beat the price right now: $39.99? Sign me up! 😉

Yeah, that’s a pretty good deal! I downloaded the Kindle app on my iPad and use it to read. Or iBooks. Or Google PlayBooks. Whichever has the cheaper book lol. But mostly Kindle app. Because I love it! ❤

        Liked by 1 person

    3. Oh yeah I totes love the Kindle app! It’s the best thing ever! I have Kindle, iBooks, Kobo, Bluefire, Nook, Glose, Wattpad, and BookShout! (I got a free book in each one at some point so I like having the app diversity lol).

  2. I LOVE your list of bookish gifts! I would love to have some bookish jewellry as well, I always look them up on Etsy, but the shipping is way overpriced for me haha. Also, that idea about keeping a book journal with actual pictures of books, I LOVE IT. And, erm, I love polaroid pictures as well. I would be DREAMING of getting a subscription box, but the shipping issue is the same here haha 🙂

    1. Yeah, i can’t believe the shipping rates! It makes me seriously angry. We can barely share anything with people across the pond without the cost coming close to $50. Ridiculous. I think a book journal is def something I want to start. Ashleigh mentioned a “bullet” journal but I don’t know anything about those so I’m going to look it up. The book jewelry shouldn’t be expensive to ship: it weighs nothing! Stupid mail. Once I start working, I’m going to start mailing my Aussies some care packages more often!

  3. These are all such amazing gifts you picked Stephanie, and any of these I’d be super happy to get as well. I hope you get the Kindle Fire for Christmas. I had one ages ago but then traded it in for my current iPad, which actually works for me a lot better.
I love the Fujifilm Instax cameras as well, the colours are so pretty! I actually have a camera like this somewhere, I really should dig it out of my wardrobe, where everything is and see if I can make some use out of it. I agree that Fairy Loot is an amazing subscription box, it’s expensive but well worth the money considering the quantity and quality of the items you get inside it, plus I’m slowly building up my collection of Funko Pops so I’d love any of those for Christmas!
Basically you list would be pretty much my list for this Christmas as well! 🙂
Also yay for book mail. I think I remember you saying that you wanted the red cover for the Three Dark Crowns book and now you have it! 😀

    1. I’m glad you liked the list! You inspired me to make my own.
I swear, if I was working right now, I would subscribe to Fairy Loot. I really love the value for your money. It’s the only one that I can tell that is worth the money. I’ve seen the Potter boxes and the Owlcrate and the Dragon’s Hoard ones and they just don’t have enough going on for me to want to subscribe to it. You gotta get the bang for your buck, you know?
      I don’t have a single Funko Pop! 😭😭😭
Yes, I got the pretty covers on both The Thousandth Floor and Three Dark Crowns. Sammi remembered that I liked the AUS one (I really do), not necessarily more than the US one, but about the same. It was very sweet of her, though shipping to both Anne and Sammi cost me $122! Damn, right? 😳💭 💸
I got some book mail today! I haven’t opened it yet, but I think it’s Truthwitch and another book from the giveaway lady (there’s two in there). And then I got a book from Penguin First to Read…at least, that’s who I think it’s from (it says Penguin 🐧 on the package so ?). I haven’t opened them bc I’m tempted to wait until Christmas and make them extra gifts, lol! That and I have to take pics of the opening of it, and I’m kinda tired tonight. My mom doesn’t believe I’m getting these books free and thinks I’m somehow buying books bc she doesn’t believe I’m really winning them. Did I tell you all this already? It’s been a long day!
How are your holidays going? 🤔

      Liked by 1 person

      1. That’s good to hear, and this is definitely an amazing one too.
Maybe that’s something to aim for for when you do start working, honestly though if I wasn’t working I wouldn’t be subscribed to Fairy Loot either. I agree it’s amazing value but when you have limited funds there are more important things you need to spend your money on aren’t there?
Oh that’s a shame, I have a few now, maybe soon you’ll be able to start collecting them and then you’ll have some on your bookshelves. Didn’t you say you asked for some for Christmas?
That’s good about the covers, they are both really pretty books, hopefully the story inside will be just as amazing. Also wow that is a lot of money on shipping. I’m sure it’s worth it but still.
Ohh book mail is always exciting. My SFATW box arrived today but I haven’t opened that yet because I am saving it for Christmas. I’m definitely excited to see what’s in your Penguin box! You’ll have to post an unboxing for that.
That’s strange why would you lie about getting free books?! And even if they weren’t free it’s your money isn’t it?
Going all right at the moment, still need to wrap up presents, how are your holidays?

        Liked by 1 person

    2. Wow, I didn’t see this until now! I’m telling you, I’m not getting all my comment notifications!
I hope your Christmas went well! I have some “unboxing” pics to show and a review to write today! Also, I told my mom about some ARCs I might get and she goes, “Great, more books.” She doesn’t get it. If I had a job and spent money on books she would flip out. She thinks it’s “obsessive” to want ANYTHING. Ugh. That’s just the way she is and I have to bide my time until I move out.
Did you get anything you really wanted? I think you mentioned something about gift certificates or money for books? At least your fam gets it. 😉
      Sorry about the delay!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. That’s all right, and I know what you mean because I’ve missed a few here and there as well. You’ve seen it now! 😀
It went fine thanks, how was yours? Ohh, I’ll keep an eye out for your posts then, both the review and the unboxing. They’re free books, it’s not like you’re paying for them or anything. I don’t see what the problem is but then again I’m a bookworm as well. I don’t think my family understands per say but they accept my book buying hobbies which is all I can really ask for!
I got money, which I will be spending on books! I think i saw your haul on Instagram, looks like you got a Funko Pop figure I think! 😀

        Liked by 1 person

    3. Yes ma’am, my FIRST! My mom finally got the hint even though she thinks they’re stupid. She’s caving on some stuff bc I’ve promised to clean out my room and give away some old stuff (which breaks my heart but I’ll have room for books since the deal is I make room, she gets me a bookcase). I’ll prob be hosting some giveaways for some cool swag so I don’t have to throw my stuff away. It doesn’t cost much to mail small items through the post if they can fit in an envelope, and someone else will enjoy them instead of seeing them in the trash!
Besides, I think I missed my six month anniversary bc of Christmas!
I was going to post today but I got my emails down to 300! I’m amazed! I might live a normal life soon!
The Funko was Sailor Moon with Luna…there was a cool one where she came with the wand, but my mom didn’t see that one and got me the one without the wand and she’s posing. But it still is hella cool. It looks like some people keep them in boxes but what’s the fun in that? I get that they might lose value taking them out of the box, but you do, right? I mean, how fun is a Funko Pop if it loves in a box?! My mom always made me keep my Christmas collectible Barbies in a box (back in the 90s), and when I sold them later in life, they were worth more, but because they were in the box. But Pops are diff, right?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. That’s great to hear, and I don’t think they’re stupid but there are probably people in my family who don’t get them. I guess it’s just one of those things bookish people love and other people don’t as much you know? Ohh giveaways will be cool, and you’re right if they’re small enough it won’t cost much to post at all will it. I recently sorted out my books, took me pretty much all day and there are a lot to go to charity shops but honestly everything looks so much better now it’s been done. That’s a shame about missing your six-month blogiversary but great you’re down to 300 emails now, soon you’ll be down to even less than that! 😀
It’s a great one to have for your first Funko, mine was Sam Winchester and Charlie from Supernatural (I brought both at the same time) I’m not sure if you watch that show but I love them both! I have a decent selection now, a couple from Harry Potter, one from Star Wars, and hopefully I’ll be getting more soon as well. All of mine are out of the box and I got rid of the box as well, I don’t mind about the value after, I just want them to look pretty on my bookshelves! 😀

        Liked by 1 person

    4. Uhh yeah I watch Supernatural! I am behind on my seasons bc I have no one to watch it with…I used to watch it with my ex-boyfriend…not it feels wrong to watch it without him. Lol.
Oh my mom is not a fan oh “anything that can cause clutter.” POPs fit into that category, lol.
      How was your New Years?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I recently binge watched like a season and half to catch up, but now there are no episodes I can watch that are new so I’m feeling withdrawal at the moment!
I try and manage my clutter, but honestly I think you need a little clutter if not what else is there to decorate your room and living space. 😀
Mine was fine thanks, quiet, I saw the London fireworks on TV at midnight with my parents. How was yours? 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

    5. That sounds like fun!
Mine was def quiet: went over to my sister’s house to exchange Christmas presents and I got Pig 🐷 slippers and a remote start for my car! Nice!
Oh, and I have HUGE Supernatural withdrawal but it’s hard to watch the show and not think of my ex, who loved watching it with me. Bastard ruined Supernatural for me!!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Sometimes it’s nice have a quiet Christmas isn’t it? And it sounds you got some nice presents as well!
Oh that is a shame, you need to find a way to watch it again but associate different memories with it, I’m not sure how but there has to be a way right? 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

    6. Prob to watch it either with someone else, or turn it into a totally diff experience, like by starting from the beginning? I’ve had to do it before with other shows (The Walking Dead used to be a Doug and me thing, but I started watching it over with my mom and now it’s a me and her thing!)…the only sad thing is that my mom would NEVER watch Supernatural, so it’s going to have to be an on my own thing.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. That’s a good plan, and I actually think it would be interesting to see Supernatural from the beginning again. Then again 12 seasons of maybe 20 odd episodes is a lot to get through. 🙂 Hopefully you will get back into it, it’s still a good show.

        Liked by 1 person

    7. Well, Sammi brought up that she watches it, so I’m thinking have a watch buddy? Fangirl about the episodes after? She’s on season 10, but she said she wants to start from the beginning. Sometimes (who am I kidding? Most times) I wish you girls were around the corner so we could kick it and have a sleepover and watch tv and gossip about books and boys, lol!

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Like a buddy read only for a TV show right? I’ll admit I watch certain episodes from previous series but it would be a lot of work going all the way back to the beginning, fun though I reckon.
And yeah actually that would be amazing, shame we all live half a world away. :/

    8. It IS a shame! I feel like I have so many friends, when before I had none. I feel so happy all the time now, though it’s kinda pathetic bc you guys have never met me, so it’s like, can you really think I’m all that special if we’ve never met? (I hope so. Damn, that’s depressing. It’s got to be hormones, if you know what I mean…)
But it would be a reaffirmation to know that we are true homies, you know? That’s why I’m going to save up my money and over the summer I’m either going to AUS or the U.K. and meet my peeps. I’d really like to meet you guys at least once. Hell, one day even video chat would be cool! 😉😘

      Liked by 1 person

      1. It would be amazing if we did live closer together but nonetheless I still count you as one of my close friends, even if we have never met. I speak to you so much and it’s not just about books either! 😀
I’m thinking about coming over to the US one day, maybe this year or next. Not sure when but it’s a plan, and I’d love to visit AUS as well. Then again a video chat would be cool too! 😀

    9. Aww, thank you! Me too! I talk about you and Sammi and Anne like you guys are my friends, so it must be so! I have one physical friend (yes, one) who went to school with me, and she just joined Goodreads, but she isn’t a YA reader like us.
Oh I hope you visit! Anywhere you went I would meet you! I’d drive!
And yes, video would be cool too! Yay!!

  4. I have an iPad for school, but they’ve disable the app store, so I can’t really do as much with it. My grandpa overheard me complaining about it once, and then he just brought me his old iPad. I know, it was a huge shock to me too. That iPad’s fantastic, because even though it’s old, I don’t need to use it very much, so it’s very helpful for me to be able to get different book apps and blogging things, etc. Still, I would really like to have a Kindle, because although both iPads are okay, they’re just not prime for Kindle reading.
Oh my gosh, I actually got a camera this morning! It’s my favorite present (even though my parents forgot to buy me a memory card so I can only have 5 pictures at a time right now, haha), and yes, I totally got it for Bookstagram and blog stock photos.
I didn’t even think about putting a book subscription on my Christmas list, but that sounds so amazing! At least my birthday is coming up. Check! 😉

    1. Well, I think iPads are great for some blogging stuff so I’m glad you’ve had something all this time…but I saw your post! A camera with wifi, and photos go straight to your Instagram?? Awesome!
Will they grab you a memory card? Cause you’ll need one, lol!
I got a Kindle Fire HD8, a Fujifilm Instax (with film but no blog journal so I’ll have to get one myself), and a Funko Pop Vinyl…plus other stuff that was not on this list…NO BOOKS!! 🙀🙀🙀
But…I’m happy! And I’m sure you are too! My bday is in March so hopefully a subscription box then! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Definitely! Especially when I go on vacation; my laptop is very big and bulky and I just finally got a laptop bag today, so it’s been very easy to just take my iPad. 🙂
I know, right? It’s fantastic! Hahaha yes, each of my parents thought the other had gotten it, but they’re planning to get me one tomorrow. 🙂
Eek, that sounds fun! Ugh, that’s horrible! XD
Awesome! My birthday is January 31, so it’s always made up of my Christmas list leftovers. 🙂

    2. Ooh, now I know your bday! You might have to get a bookmark in the mail from me as a present! Having a bday so close to Christmas can be a blessing and a curse!!
I can’t wait to see your Instagram pics now!! 😍😍😍
I think I follow you on there…I better go check now to make sure (I’m still SO NEW to it all!)
      Merry Christmas again darling!

  5. *splutter splutter* I pretty much want everything on your list. Except I just want a replacement Nook because mine keeps dying on me…so far each time my DH has somehow managed to resurrect it, but it’s not dependable.

WHERE DID YOU FIND THOSE LUNAR CHRONICLES CHARMS?!?! I must have. Must. Must must must.

Oh, I hope you got your Fairy Loot box sub!! *fingers crossed*

Er, I was originally going to comment because I happened to see your graphic and loved it. Then I got distracted with all the bookish pretties. I suck at designing graphics and yours are always spot on!

    1. Why, thank you!! ::blushes::
The Lunar Chronicle charms are on Etsy (look up book charms Lunar Chronicles and they come up) or Spearcrate has a website that sells bookish jewelry and they will make ANY design you want! I didn’t get any, so I’ll have to buy them myself at some point.
From my wishlist, I got the Fire HD 8, the Fujifilm Instax, the witch feet bookmark, and a Sailor Moon Funko Pop!! (It’s my first Pop).
No books this year…sigh. But some cool stuff I didn’t ask for as well, so I can’t be upset.
I suck at graphics but I do my best with Canva on my iPad.
I’m glad you like my list: hope you had a fun Christmas, too!!

    1. Thank you!
Well, I got the camera, Kindle, the witch bookmark (that was cool), and a Funko Pop of Sailor Moon (my very first Pop!). No books, but some great stuff. Jewelry, perfume, little randomness like a Jack Skellington keychain. It was a great holiday. My mom and I go a little nuts bc we both don’t have any other fam to get gifts from (I mean my sis and my aunt, but that’s about it, you know?) so we bombard each other to see who “wins” Christmas. Usually I win, but I think it was a tie this year. Lol.
What did you get? Anything good?

      1. Ahhhhhh a SAILOR MOON POP! That sounds amazeballs. I know that feeling – when it comes to family it’s really always just been me, my sister and my Mum so we do Christmas a similar way aka spoil each other rotten haha. A few lovely bits and pieces including my first two Pop! figures too (Quidditch Harry and Snape) and a Kindle! Definitely can’t complain! Hope your 2017 gets off to a fab start. 🙂

    2. Well. It sounds like you got some cool Christmas swag too!
Quidditch Harry and Snape? That’s awesome. Esp since we lost Alan this year. Sad face.
And a Kindle! We can rock out Kindles together! I do prefer having it be a close Christmas, you know? It’s so much nicer to be with your close loved ones. There’s the ones that will always be there for you. Well, them and you guys! 😍
And yes, I’m psyched my first POP is Sailor Moon. I love her.
Have a great NY! 2017 will be a better year, I can feel it! 🤞🤞🤞

      1. I did indeed! Yes! It’s Harry in his Quidditch robes holding his Firebolt and the Golden Snitch. The Snape one has nothing to do with Quidditch…I think the way I typed that was a bit misleading hahaaaaa! I know. I was absolutely gutted when I heard the news. Such a loss. 😦 Indeed we can! I’ve been very resistant to having one but with the amount I read/buy books now it’s the only practical option – plus they’re mega handy for NetGalley books, I was reading them all on my phone before! Madness. I totally agree – it’s always nicer when it’s just your nearest and dearest. So cool! I’m going to hunt down those Sailor Moon POPs – is she the only one or do they have the rest of crew, too? You too! I hope so! 🙂

    3. They have the rest of the crew! I actually found them on Hot Topic, I believe, and I showed my mom…that’s how she picked my POP. She saw me point out Sailor Moon and remembered it. They have all the Scouts and another Sailor Moon with WAND! But Luna has a flower instead of her crescent moon, so I like mine, though the wand would’ve been cool. But I’m happy for what I got, since I never thought I would get that one: I figured she’d find one at B&N or Toys R Us that was random just to say she got one for me.
My Kindle rocks! I have the older e-ink one which has an awesome battery, but this one has a 12 hr battery life and still has the backlight option and works like a tablet, like my iPad mini. I’m grateful for all the great stuff I got for Christmas…and I’ve been getting some good free books, so I’m getting over not getting books for Christmas, lol. Besides, my bday is in March…and a LOT of good books come out around then, like Strange the Dreamer!

  6. What a list of wants for readers!! hehe.. Really, I think you can live without them. Those subscription boxes are pricey, even though individually they do cost more. I don’t think I will ever join them. I would rather get the ARCs or find some books at the thrift store. All other knick knacks.. they do take up space though and just sit there to collect dust. Do you have TJMaxx by you? You can find many cute journals for cheap.

    1. No not really… There’s a TJ Maxx a couple cities away, but it’s about an hour drive. There are some on Amazon for, like, seven bucks and I still have my gift card for there… So I’m thinking of ordering one from there?

    2. Nope…no Marshall’s at all. But we have a Kohl’s?
I signed up for this cute notebook site from Twitter, and they said the first 500 ppl got a gift card for their site for $10, but they haven’t given me shit. I think they are just trying to get ppl to sign up for their mailing lists but it’s too bad bc the notebooks are cute.
I do have a ton of notebooks I’ve already bought and never used…but I’m not good at Bullet Journaling or artsy stuff. That’s why I like the idea of having a “Book Journal” that is pre-filled out with places for titles, ratings, quotes, etc. There’s a really cute one on Amazon I should link you in our Blogateer thread so you can see it!

      1. That’s why we have our blog already isn’t it? We can post a pic of the book and our thoughts of the book. A notebook, you will have to write notes in it. I rather type than write haha.. And on blog, there’s more space hehe..

    3. Yeah, and I love my blog, but it would be nice to have something tangible that I can have and own and write my thoughts down as I’m reading…there was a girl and I don’t remember who it was now and she made her own from stamps and it was beautiful. I think it would be a nice side hobby.
I start to housesit for my aunt and uncle on Fri and will be there until the 19th, so I won’t have my mom giving me shit for blogging and reading…so I’m going to get a LOT of reading and blogging done, and I’m so excited! That’s when I might start my journal. If I do make one, I’ll share it on here. I’m behind in my posts bc my mom wants me to do stuff around the house and apply for jobs (I don’t blame her either), but when I’m housesitting, I’ll have nothing to do but read and blog and I’m SO EXCITED!

      1. Your mom is right. Getting the teaching job is more important than reading and blogging. You should hunt for that teaching job because you don’t want to waste your education degree. So much money and time spent on school, don’t you want to finally get paid? We don’t get paid reading & blogging so our main job should comes first. With that paycheck, you could buy more books! There are a lot of recruiters out there. Use them. They don’t charge you for their time. You are collecting which books good to read for your students but you have to get that job so you can utilize your ideas 😊 good luck to your job hunting!

      2. Oh, I already applied for substitution jobs. That’s all I can do for now. School isn’t in session so I have to wait….she’s talking like, retail, just in case. Ugh, I really don’t want to go back to retail. But I’m applying, just in case. 😊😉

      3. Btw, I never asked! What do you do? It must be something that lends a lot of time to reading…I’m just curious bc maybe that’s what I should be doing! Lol.
Jk. I’ll always want to teach…but I just realized I have either forgotten or haven’t asked.

      4. My title is Operations Analyst. I work in Accounting department. My degree is Accounting. I read during lunch break and at night and in the weekends. I should be working now but just squeeze in a few comments here & there 😂 I’m mostly busy all day but since my job deals more with paperwork and less interaction with people, I get to reply to comments anytime 😊 It’s a pretty good professional career. Every company needs an Accountant 😊

      5. You should create a resume and apply for jobs online. Go to indeed.com and monsterjobs.com then apply for data entry & admin jobs. Teller at a bank. I apply all my jobs online. Every company needs an admin assistant. Apply all. Just cost time. Even jobs descriptions you don’t think you will qualify, just apply. They may need someone with your skills.

I’ll check them out…I used to have one on both sites, but I think they are out of date by now! I thank you for reminding me to go there…I had completely forgotten!

  7. Awesome list! I have been annoying my sister to buy me a kindle for ages and she’s always like “You have the free app, no.” 😦 I also want a sub box! I honestly told my friends this year that for my birthday that’s what they’re getting me, they have no choice lol
I’ve never heard of Scythe! Going to put it on my tbr now 😀
Hope you had a great new year ❤

I know how it is, not getting what you ask for: my mom said the same thing, but my pitch was about the batt life and that swayed her. But I’m sure you got some cool books? Hopefully?
I can’t wait to read Scythe…hopefully the review will say it’s awesome!
I’m only going to get a sub box if I order it myself. 😭😭😭

      1. Hahaha I should have made that argument too. I got some awesome books that I’ve wanted for ages: The Name of the Wind, Falling Kingdoms, Heartless, and the Sword of Summer!!
I look forward to your review of Scythe!!
Awwww – you have to make someone get it for your birthday or something lol 😀 ❤
