This is an amazing story of one book’s travels from a Little Free Library in Ohio…and the author who wrote it!
There’s Reflection: The Stranger in the Mirror on top of the stack!
Two years ago, I dropped off a copy of the first edition of my book, Reflection: The Stranger in the Mirror, in the Little Free Library that stands beside the local bike trail. (See the original post from August 2015 here.) I wrote an inscription on the inside in the hopes of one day hearing from someone who happened to pick up the book. Weeks passed, then months and years, and I assumed that the book must have disappeared somewhere along it’s journey.
And then–just last week–something amazing happened. This appeared on Instagram…
You can imagine my surprise at seeing one of the few original copies of my book make an appearance after so many years. But this wasn’t simply one of the originals…
…it was the copy I left in the Little Free Library. And…

I thought it was so sweet! I love Rachel and met her before I knew she was the author of that series…to find out her book ended up in Australia is just so amazing! And with a Bookstagrammer too! What are the odds?!?
I’m so glad you enjoyed it too!

When I read this, it really gave me faith about the Little Free Libraries! I found a copy of Wonder once for a friend and it would be interesting to see where it ended up, you know?

It really does. It should be a thing that if you drop off a book to those you write a message, and when you pick one up, you post it to Bookstagram. I’d love to see more book journeys like this.

That’s what I would love! Most people have Instagram, except of course for the seniors out there, but they wouldn’t pick up YA usually…so it would be amazing to see all the stops it makes!
I’m going to have to try it and see if it works! My local one won’t cut it bc it’s all pretty much older people…but if I went to one in Grand Rapids…or a bigger city….then the odds are much better! Even one in a complex (apartment/trailer/gated community) might be a good place!
I do have those book fairy stickers…🤔😉

That would be so fun!!! We don’t even have any here that I’ve seen. Let me know if you do it though. Actually you should just do a blog post, so we can all see it. 🙂

I do, too, plus I won a giveaway of Rachel’s book with the new art. Hope special to find such a book? And Rachel is amazed it is all the way in Australia, owned by a Bookstagrammer! Amazing!

Wow, that is so awesome! I love this story. September 18 is “Hide a book day” where you hide a book somewhere in the world for others to find, read and hide once again. I thought how awesome it would be if the books had a code (you need to put a sticker provided by “ibelieveinbookfaries” anyways) so people can check how books travel 😀

I was just thinking that! It would be so cool to see your book actually move around the country!
I have some of those stickers – I will hide a book on Sept 18! I didn’t even know about the day! Thanks for letting me know! 😍😍😍
