Inge interviewed me for this feature and I love it! She made me feel so special even asking!
If you’d like to learn more about me or my blog, go check it out! 😉
I still remember it like it was yesterday when Stephanie @TeacherofYA’s Book Blog reached out to me as a new blogger. She started blogging in July 2016 but I can tell you she has already surpassed me in everything by now. Her rating system is a very original one with two different sets: RainbowBrites for book appreciation and another one for class approprieteness. I think she must be a great teacher in real life too and I wish I’d gotten someone like her when I was younger! She read 168 books in 2016 so I think you’ll find a lot of inspiration if you’re into YA fantasy books! Be sure to check out her blog and give her a like, she’s so nice!

I loved your interview! Very awesome! And you have such a better book collection than me. 300 books and an ARC of ACOTAR? I can never top that off! 😂

Oh you might one day!
I was lucky to find that. And I have a friend that found a Cinder ARC for me and is sending it. I NEVER thought I would be where I am last year: I didn’t even know what an ARC was!
Glad I waited to send you swag though bc I’ve gotten even more incredible stuff and you’re gonna love it!!

Loved your interview! I’m so glad to know more about you! I’m not postcard collector but those Halloween postcards looks beautiful. You got an ACOTAR ARC Copy for 2$!!!! I’m so jealous!!! 🙂

It was my very first ARC. I didn’t know much about them, but I told my mom it was probably worth something, and I really liked the book. That day I took home that and the whole Matched series (two paperbacks and one HC) for $10…I was a happy girl.
Someone once tried to trade me for it before I knew it was valuable…I wanted Carve The Mark and this was way before anyone read it…someone had a copy. I ALMOST traded it, but I couldn’t do it. I felt that I was missing something…apparently I was. Apparently it’s highly sought after. So I’m glad I kept it. I do love the book anyway, so it’s a double bonus. And I’ve found other good deals…my friend in Canada is sending me Cinder! He found it for $3! It happens!

The cover of ACOTAR looks gorgeous and it’s one of my favorite covers. It is one of the top hyped books. I’m quite surprised that you haven’t heard about it. I haven’t read Carve the mark yet but I’ve been hearing so many mixed reviews about it. Have you read it yet?

Oh, I had heard of the book before but I didn’t know anything about the ARC meaning something: I just figured I got a good deal on a book. I had a FEELING that it was good to have an ARC vs a reg copy, but I then learned all about the collecting of ARCs and I totally do it now.
As for Carve the Mark, I won a signed copy in a giveaway. I haven’t read it yet bc I never have time to read books I actually own…there’s always a review request waiting or a library book due back. Not enough hours in the day.

What a fun interview! Your lunchbox collection is adorbs. Also…I added two of the books you mentioned to my Goodreads lists 🤓 NEVER ENOUGH Lol

Never enough!! Lmao! 😂🤣
I’m glad I could help you add to the massive TBR (that I’m guessing is as long as mine!)
Glad you like my lunchboxes: they are one of my “most fun” collections!

I remember having a Pokemon lunchbox that I loved sooo much, but it was plastic, not metal. Very impressive collection 😀 I think the only thing I collect are “tbrs” Lol

I have some plastic ones…they aren’t as collectible, and the old ones had decals that would come off from washing them, so finding them in good condition is hard. I think I have a My Little Pony one. Don’t you have a collection of something? Even books count!

Where do you find them? Garage sales and thrift stores and ebay? Hm…I guess I do collect books that I enjoy, good point 😀

All those places…I started finding them at antique shops (this was before eBay existed…I’m that old), and then I started getting some there. I have found maybe one at a thrift shop…it’s rarer bc ppl know they’re collectible. EBay’s the best place bc they’re in better condition but I remember once I bought a Care Bears cousins box and the front was mint…then I got it and the back was jacked. Once again, this was back when eBay was a Loy shadier so it’s safer, but pricier, now. I also was a raver back then so I used my lunch boxes as purses for awhile instead of for collector value, so I have multiple Care Bears ones of the same design…it’s my fave one! 😂

That’s so interesting! I didn’t even think of antique shops. So packing up to move really must have been a huge and delicate process for you 😮

I have 1 Rainbow Brite one but I’d be over the moon to get more or find others. I’ve never found a metal one yet.

Ah, I was wondering why you used Rainbow Brites!! Now it makes sense: you’re a collector! It’s all coming together Lol That’s such a cool hobby. You have to know all kinds of dates, I bet. The postcards are really cool, too, btw, I forgot to mention that!

Thank you!
I do tend to collect lots of things…I’ve narrowed it down to certain themes so I don’t become a hoarder: like, I’m particular about my postcards now that I’ve learned the artists and the values. With lunch boxes, I focus on mainly the 1980s cartoons…and with my Madame Alexander dolls, I don’t buy one until my collection is able to be displayed. No point having more if I can’t show them off.
Now I’ve started with books and ARCs…so I try to focus on one so I don’t get overwhelmed…because when it comes to collections, I DO have a few (i.e. Medicine tins pre-1950, Wade’s Whimsies, Netsukes, etc etc etc)

And yes, packing to move has been a bit of a nightmare with all the fragile things and all the things my mom insists I don’t need anymore (do you really need that Hello Kitty figurine? Do you REALLY need all those animal backpacks? You are not keeping your raver jeans from 15 years ago!)…so I have to be sneaky.
Ain’t no one throwin away MY RAVER JEANS! Do you know how expensive they are on eBay? 😂😂🤣

Yikes, good luck!! 😆😆 NO NOT THE RAVER JEANS!!!!

Loved reading this Q&A and getting to know you a little better!
I just hit 29 for the second time lol #29Forever
That Gremlins lunch box is freaking awesome!!
I have a thing about dolls… I think it stems from the fact my older brother had me watch Chucky when I was 5 or 6. I definitely have a complex now lol

I used to have a complex about anything other than Barbie. But my mom had Madame Alexander dolls and they are cute. Little chubby faces and the kind are called Wendykins. They are the only dolls I dare love.
#29forever baby!! Yaya!
I love the cartoon boxes more, but anything 80s makes me happy. The 70s ones are more valuable but I love the 80s ones…they were the ones I grew up seeing everywhere. I had a She-Ra one once…as a kid.
